Quotable Queen: Susan Fignar

Updated: Sep 3, 2020

This week's Quotable Queen is Susan Fignar, a career and life management skills coach with many services to offer!

The following information is provided by PUR*SUE Inc., an executive presence and relationship management organization.

"Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better." - Dr. Maya Angelou

Since hosting her very first lemonade stand at the age of six, Susan Fignar has been an entrepreneur for as long as she can remember. Fast forward, over the past 20+ years, Susan, an executive coach and corporate trainer, has helped thousands of individuals across a wide range of industries achieve a higher level of professionalism through executive presence, leadership, communications and relationship management. She’s known for adjusting her personal coaching style appropriately to meet the needs of her clients and their communication style. Senior leaders covet her as an insightful professional who quickly gets to the essence of the issue. Her training and coaching style is conversational and direct with a generous dose of encouragement, empathy and humor.

Four years ago, Susan pivoted her business as she desired to have more impact and experience deeper meaning in her coaching practice, which led to designing a few new coaching engagements, such as:

1) ”New Phase, New YOU”, a 9-week jumpstart coaching engagement for college grads / students and young careerists in the areas of life management, best business practices and “adulting” skills to prepare them, whether it’s a part-time job, an internship or a new job after college.

2) Another sweet spot includes coaching women to “get off the hamster wheel, trying to be all and do all”. Over the years, Susan discovered many women are not on their own To-Do List. This observation inspired her to design “Becoming Your Best Self”, a 12-week engagement to help women at any stage of their lives:

  • Develop a new mindset and new practices to make themselves a priority

  • Appear more open, approachable and poised

  • Identify and lead with their core values

  • Set and communicate boundaries

  • Make requests and ask for what they need, want and desire

  • Learn how and when to say NO

  • Develop self-care practices to refill, replenish and restore

  • And most importantly, have courage, be vulnerable, be bold and be open to receive.
